Northview Doors & Systems

Last updated: January 27, 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern residential and light commercial service work performed by Northview Doors & Systems (“Northview”). By approving an estimate, scheduling service, or allowing work to proceed, the customer agrees to the terms below.

1. Authorization to Perform Work

By approving an estimate, the customer authorizes Northview Doors & Systems to perform the services described in the approved estimate. Authorization may be provided electronically, in writing, or verbally when permitted.

Work will not begin until authorization is received.

2. Scope of Work

The approved estimate covers only the specific services and components listed.

Garage door systems contain many interdependent parts. Northview is not responsible for:

  • Failure of components not included in the approved scope

  • Latent or hidden defects not visible during normal inspection

  • Damage caused by prior repairs, improper installation, or normal wear

Any additional repairs discovered during service will be communicated to the customer and require approval before proceeding.

3. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise stated in writing.

Accepted payment methods may include credit/debit card, check, or other methods as indicated on the invoice. Returned or declined payments may be subject to additional fees.

A service or diagnostic fee may apply even if the customer declines recommended repairs.

4. Warranties

Labor Warranty

Northview provides a 90-day labor warranty on workmanship related to the services performed, unless otherwise stated.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Misuse, abuse, or lack of maintenance

  • Failure of unrelated or pre-existing components

  • Work performed by others after Northview completes service

Parts Warranty

Parts are covered only by the manufacturer’s warranty, if any. Warranty terms, coverage length, and remedies are determined solely by the manufacturer.

Northview does not guarantee manufacturer warranty approval and is not responsible for delays or denials related to manufacturer claims.

5. Pre-Existing Conditions

Garage door systems are under high tension and may contain worn, fatigued, or damaged components.

Northview is not responsible for:

  • Failure of pre-existing components

  • Damage caused by structural issues, wood rot, corrosion, or prior modifications

  • Opener or door damage caused by previously unbalanced or unsafe systems

Replacing one component does not guarantee the longevity of other existing components.

6. Safety Testing & Operation

Northview may perform necessary safety checks, adjustments, and testing as part of service. The customer acknowledges that continued safe operation of a garage door system depends on proper use, periodic maintenance, and timely repair of worn components.

Customers should discontinue use of the system if abnormal operation, excessive noise, or visible damage occurs.

7. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area

  • Remove vehicles and personal property from the garage as needed

  • Disclose known issues, prior repairs, or system modifications

Northview is not responsible for delays or incomplete service due to unsafe or obstructed conditions.

8. Property Damage

Northview will take reasonable care to protect the work area. However, Northview is not responsible for damage resulting from:

  • Pre-existing conditions

  • Structural deficiencies

  • Fragile, aged, or deteriorated materials

  • Normal and necessary service operations

9. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments canceled or rescheduled with insufficient notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Emergency service availability is not guaranteed and is subject to technician availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northview’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the services performed.

Northview is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, inconvenience, or property damage beyond the scope of work performed.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.

12. Acceptance

Approval of an estimate, payment of an invoice, or allowing work to proceed constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
